🌹Rose Petals Falling🥀
A few days ago, I posted my poem The Crossing on the My Poems section. Today on the Poetry Hub section, I post my friend’s poem. I gave him the same challenge. And gave him the title “Rose” in which he had to construct a poem and submit the next day.
Rose Petals Falling by Yamikani “Karnie” Katunga
20th January 2016
A rose, a girl, well within bloom.
Grown with petals developed from birth.
Not many, far less, but just a few.
But each representing a bit of some worth.
A man, her dad, or rather, father.
A relationship as strong as biology goes.
Absent by choice. Here, not often.
And each time he left with a petal from the rose.
A man, a boy, she went into his arms.
In search for a comfort that she never knows.
Those arms disappear like her father’s they’re gone.
With a few more petals from this withering rose.
Now thorny and wilted without a petal.
All, fallen away and decomposed.
A new spring; new bud, but only little.
A petal appears on a baby rose.
