Beloved children, it is I,
Your mother
Your world
Your past
Your future
I’ve watched you grow
into the human race
that you are today
I have given
Selflessly
You have taken
Mindlessly
I have warned
You have ignored
You have hurt me in more ways than one
Yet, I carry you
I fight for you
because I need you
You need me
I’ve overcome so many adversities
and so will you
This plague will soon become history
As you heal
I’ll be healing too
I pray that you, my children
Will unite
Now more than ever
The battle is ours
to be fought for
Despite skin colour, background or tongue
As we unravel the cries being sung
One voice must now be heard
Like the harmonious chirps of a hummingbird
Tunes of love and tunes of peace
Must now echo across the seven seas
Must now echo across the seven seas
As you heal
