Jane Eyre’s Conclusion
It was in 2012 when my English teacher, Mr Ricci, gave us a task. After having read the book by Charlotte Brontë, "Jane Eyre". We had to choose between writing a reflective essay or a poem, and of course! I had chosen a poem (a sonnet). It went as far as being published into the school magazine.
If you are into Victorian literature and if you are a hopeless romantic, an old-soul love kinda person, I would highly recommend you read Jane Eyre. It is set in Northern England in the 19th Century.
This is dedicated to all the couples out there and to all the future couples. I hope you have a fantastic read…
Reader, I married him:
It is I who chose him!
For his love and genuine passion-
My unconventional man.
His black hair,
Grim mouth, chin, and jaw;
His unconventional being:
I certainly fell for.
A persecuted child I was before,
Left out in the cold, mostly alone-
But grew up and moved away:
At first I became a governess without my own home.
But, in the end, I’m his loving wife,
Together forever, our entire life.
