Black Beauty
My little and only sister, is a great inspiration to me. I wrote this poem for us, True Warriors! I dedicate this piece to all the sisters and sistahs getting through day by day, Love Lizza.
Black beauty, so fierce
So vulnerable
The years of your youth remain in your eyes
You hold back tears
For the sake of others.
Not to see you fall
You hold your dignity high
And wear pride in the place of a crown
Your heart, so fragile
So strong
Your feet have run where many have not
You are brave,
A risk taker
The breeze knows your name
And flowers sway at your coming
The wind whispers you good morning
The moon clothes you at night
Nature calls you back
Black beauty, rest assured
Here in my arms
Is where you call
Home.
